Project Manager
Project Manager for the Warehousing Team within the Manufacturing Systems department. Five team members report directly to this position. Projects are assigned to various team members with project tracking (to include time spent, cost, status, and issues) are reported to upper management. Projects include Powerbuilder work, SQL work, COBOL work, and PERL work.
Responsible for yearly budgets for the team which are presented to upper management and then tracked for actual spending versus forecast. Responsible for project budgets for new projects that require hardware and software purchases. As the project progresses purchases are applied to the project budget and reported to upper management.
Responsible for reviews for team members which are presented to upper management for use in performance reviews and appraisals.
Responsible for yearly strategic plans in which coming year projects are mapped out for the company, priority given, and project completion dates are estimated. These project plans are then presented to upper management.

Languages supported - RPG, CL, SQL, PERL (Unix only), C, C++, Unix shell scripts (POSIX, KORN, BOURNE, C), Infopump scripting, Intermec Reader Language, Dbase III&IV, Clipper, QBasic, and Access. Trained in Powerbuilder.

Operating systems supported - OS400, HP-UX (9.01, 10.0, 10.10, 11.0), SCO Unix, Novell Lan, Dataconnect.
Functioned as the project leader for the radio frequency (RF) warehousing and shipping system. Prepared projected budgets to present to upper management and tracked actual spending cost and reported these costs to upper management. Responsible for software design, installation, implementation, training, support and for hardware installation, implementation, training and support for the RF warehousing and shipping system.
The RF system uses Intermec RF Data collection devices (JR2010, JR2020, JG2020) with a Intermec backbone (900 MHz 9180's, 9182's and 9183's in the United States and 2.4 GHz with Norand 6710 access points in England) communicating with an HP9000 RF server. The RF server has connections to the AS400 via TCP/IP and a RF gateway, to the Unisys V510 via TCP/IP and a RF gateway, to Sybase database via TCP/IP, and to a LAN system via TCP/IP. The data collection devices are programmed in PERL, the Sybase database connection uses C programs in Unix to communicate via TCP/IP (sockets).
Responsible for the Kronos time clock system for all Guilford sites. Upgraded the Kronos system from version 5 for DOS to version 8D for DOS and then to version 2C for Windows. Trained all users on the upgraded version of Kronos. Responsible for the day to day support of Kronos.
Responsible for redesigning packing labels for the new packing line. This redesign allowed for a discontinuance of preprinted AIAG labels with resulting savings for the company.
Responsible for developing and maintaining C and Korn shell script programs that provide an interface for the finishing inventory packing and for WIP inventory packing from the Series 1 system to the Sybase Database.
Responsible for maintaining existing and developing new systems for the AS400 using RPG and CL. New user data input screens were developed along with reports, reporting systems, data maintenance and data viewing. Types of systems maintained on the AS400 include sales and marketing, physical inventory, warehousing, shipping, and receiving.
Responsible for maintaining existing and developing new stored procedures and triggers for Sybase database on an HP9000 using SQL.
Responsible for maintaining existing and installing new HP9000's for the RF network. All system administration is done on this system to include installation, tuning, backups, user set-up, systems security, and reporting. C, PERL, and KORN shell scripts are used. There are currently 15 HP9000',s on this network.
